Stephen Ryan, Jr.

Firm founder, Stephen Ryan, Jr., is an experienced litigator, with impeccable oral advocacy skills, a firm grasp of litigation strategy, and an overarching drive to help his clients resolve difficult legal problems.

Prior to founding RLA in 2020, Attorney Ryan spent nearly five years at Berman Tabacco, a national class-action litigation, consumer protection and whistleblower firm. There, Attorney Ryan effectively advocated for dozens of SEC and False Claims Act whistleblower clients, which saw him frequently meeting with SEC and DOJ investigators and lawyers. Attorney Ryan also maintained a robust and successful courtroom practice, arguing critical dispositive motions in multiple high stakes matters.

Earlier in his career, Attorney Ryan worked on dozens of business and commercial lawsuits for respected downtown Boston firms. Among his formative cases were those arising from the 2007-2008 financial crisis, which resulted in his traveling to courts literally across the Commonwealth to litigate commercial disputes arising from the Great Recession.

Attorney Ryan has worked on large-scale corporate matters worth hundreds of millions of dollars with intensive deposition and discovery practice, and has also dealt with cases involving individuals and businesses who are put in the difficult position of having to litigate simply to keep themselves afloat.

While in law school, Attorney Ryan won Best Oralist in Boston University’s Stone Moot Court Competition during his second year. The following year, he served as a Student Director of that same competition.
Attorney Ryan established RLA with the goal of providing high level advocacy with integrity to its clients, at a reasonable price.
